Royal Sun Alliance Invests £2 Million in Phoenix E-Process Solution
Royal Sun Alliance (RSA) to enhance Customer Service levels by implementing an e-process solution, supported by workflow and web-based technology from Phoenix Technology Group.

RSA is to rollout Phoenix Technology Group's Insurance DeskTOP (IDT) solution to 300 users over the next 8 months. According to Barry Timlin, IT Manager RSA "the IDT is a proven solution that will enable the company to provide improved service to our customers. The packaged solution from Phoenix handles multiple communications channels which will enable our Customers to communicate with us by standard mail, phone, fax, e-mail or through the web".

The IDT is a packaged solution providing the functionality required to implement a flexible, robust, e-process and content management solution, 'out-of-the-box'. The product has been built on FileNET's product set and a suite of components that Phoenix has generated over several successful customer implementations throughout Europe. The fundamental principle of the IDT is to deliver a set of applications directly to the business that allow business managers to set up and manage their organisation, e-processes, service levels and workloads.

"RSA chose Phoenix ahead of several national and international vendors because of their ability to deliver process management projects of this type. Phoenix's fixed price and time-scale approach will ensure investment payback within 2 years. RSA management believe the Phoenix packaged solution provides a platform for future e-commerce developments while offering a low risk approach to a project of this size utilising proven technologies" said Barry.

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with RSA at the core of their leading-edge initiative. RSA's choice of the IDT further augments our position as a market leader for e-process and web enabled solutions in the finance sector" said John Feighan, Managing Director at Phoenix Technology Group. The IDT has been successfully implemented in several of the largest financial institutions throughout the world including Axa Sun Life (UK) and Colonial Financial Services (UK and Australia). It is also currently being implemented by Landesbausparkasse (Germany). By choosing the IDT RSA will:
Gain a Competitive Advantage - by implementing the latest technology to support current business operations taking advantage of new channels to market and methods of communication, such as the Internet, e-mail and EDI.
Improve Customer Service - by facilitating faster response times to claims and customer queries as well as freeing staff from the pressures of workload balancing.
Increase Productivity - by eliminating barriers to effective working, such as the removal of paper from the process and the automation of task allocation and report compilation.

The IDT design provides a high degree of future proofed investment protection. Its design includes architectural support for web deployment via Browsers. The package incorporates Java based server components communicating through Microsoft COM standards, enabling easy accessibility through the web. In addition, design features built into the IDT enable easy integration with a client's core system or with other specialist systems.

Phoenix is a Premier FileNET Partner and ISV. "Phoenix and FileNET work closely to ensure that skills and products are kept at the forefront of available technology, said Claire Buchanan Regional Vice President at FileNET. The deal with RSA strengthens both FileNET's and Phoenix's position as leaders in the e-process and content management solution market place".
