Management Team
The Phoenix Management team bring together many years of skills and experience in IT and Financial Services.
Cormac McCarthy, Managing Director,
co-founded Phoenix Technology Group in 1997 with the goal
of making Phoenix a leading provider of content and business
process management solutions. From 1997 to 2001 Cormac served
as General Manager for Phoenix. He now serves as Managing
Director.
In previous roles, Cormac was Application Delivery Manager
for Resolution Technology (a joint venture between IBM and
AIB), IT Director for National Australia Group (NAG). NAG
owned and directed the IT function for NIB (National Irish
Bank), Clydesdale Bank, Yorkshire Bank, Northern bank and
Bank of New Zealand. Cormac was responsible for the set-up
of the IT function for NIB when it split with Clydesdale Bank,
he also oversaw the complete deployment of the Alltel Branch
banking system for Yorkshire Bank. Cormac has also served
in previous roles as Project manager where he worked in the
Life insurance, building society and telecommunications sectors.
Brenda Reilly, Sales and Marketing Director,
has been working in Phoenix since its inception in 1997, and
has acted as Project Manager responsible for main customer
accounts such as AXA, Lloyds TSB, Prudential, Gerling NCM
and Churchill. As Projects Director Brenda is responsible
for project steering and commercial arrangements. Brenda also
directs both the Sales and Marketing teams in Phoenix.
Brenda has been working in the IT industry for eleven years
and previously worked for Resolution Technology Dublin, ITB
(Information Technology for Banks) and ELF Oil in London.
Gerry McNally, Finance Director, is a chartered
accountant. Having qualified in 1987 after training with Price
Waterhouse in Dublin, Gerry worked in financial controllership
roles in two small companies prior to setting up his own chartered
accountancy practice in 1992 specialising in providing financial
control and management account services to small service based
Irish companies. During this time, Gerry has gained significant
hands on experience assisting client companies develop and
grow.
Gerry’s firm has provided financial control services
to Phoenix in all bar one of the company’s years of
existence. Since September 2003, Gerry has taken a more pro-active
role in the management of the company being appointed Finance
Director.
Marie Callaghan, Customer Services Director,
has been working in Phoenix for over six years. Marie has
extensive experience in Customer Services and Support having
worked for organisations like Kerridge Computer Systems and
Kindle Banking Systems. Recognising the importance of this
area for any organisation, Marie has brought together a group
of highly experienced technical consultants, developers and
systems engineers to provide a Customer Support team that
in itself differentiates Phoenix from other software providers.
A graduate from Dublin City University, Marie maintains her
skills in FileNet, Global360 and Oracle and is heavily involved
in day to day operations.
John Feighan, Chairman, co-founded
Phoenix Technology Group in 1997 where he served as Managing
Director from 1997 to 2001. He has been integral to the growth
and development of Phoenix responsible for developing successful
relationships with numerous blue chip corporate clients. He
now serves as Chairman to the Board of Directors.
In the past, John was Chief Executive
of Resolution Technology, a joint venture between IBM and AIB,
for four years. Earlier in his career, John held a number of
management positions within the European headquarters of Ford
of Europe. He subsequently moved to Andersen Consulting - now
known as Accenture - where he was employed in the Software
Products Division, both in Chicago and the UK. Currently, John
works as Managing Director for Intel Solutions Services, EMEA.
